My Story

My name is Calico Maher, and my online handle is KnightmareMaiden.
The dream has always been to work in the video game or animation industry as a character and cutesy monster artist. I love bright, bold colours and heavy, well-defined outlines that make a character pop out of the page.
In my youth I was inspired heavily by the works of Yoshitaka Amano and Akihiko Yoshida, as well as the co-founder of Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki. The art of these three men and the wonders that they created is what spurred me into wanting a career in the Art Industry.
